Hand hygiene is one of the most important element of infection control activities among the hospital sectors. It is highly recommended as the core element of infection prevention and control for patient safety.
For the first time in Malaysia, Hand Hygiene Train The Trainer Programme 2017, a CSR project that was fully supported by Saraya Japan and organised by University of Geneva Hospitals, WHO Collaboration Center on Patient Safety and endorsed by Malaysia Ministry of Health recently took place in Kuching, Sarawak, from 14th -17th August.

During the 3 days conference, it was attended by over 80 participants from government hospitals as well as teaching institutions all over Malaysia, including some invited participants from Singapore. Throughout the whole programme, it provides an intensive training based on WHO Hand Hygiene Module, consisting of hands-on simulation, role play, multimedia training, experiences sharing by participants and lectures by the professional team members lead by Professor Didier Pittet, who is the Director of Infection Control Programme and WHO Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety, University Hospital of Geneva, Geneva,Switzerland.
